The 2011 Touch&Play Festival is in two parts: First, the Touch&Play Experiment, from 18-23 June, and following that the Festival, from 23-27 June. Registrations are now open for the Touch&Play Experiment.

Documenting our Touch&Play

At this year’s event there will be a number of collaborative documentation initiatives to capture , share and analyse our research and play. The T&P project aims to promote the exploration of the edges of contact and believes that recording our work will aid both our project and any others exploring related subjects.

The T&P Experiment

In the week preceding the festival, we’re creating a space for dedicated dancers, players, body-workers, teachers, meditators, mediators, touchers, healers, sexers, jokers, communicators and researchers to explore the edges of contact in a rigorous and anarchic space. This will feed back into the festival through workshops, labs, discussion, jam structures etc.

The T&P experiment is open to a select group of only about 35 people through a separate application process.

Applications will be accepted starting February 21st

Poetics of Touch: Post-Festival Intensive by Karl Frost

This four-day intensive will focus on the art-making inside of the practice of contact improvisation. We use our base in the physical skills and sensitivities of contact improvisation to explore a kind of collaborative art-making of personal experience… the poetics of human contact.
