Dieter Rehberg

I practice contact improvisation since 1989. I teach dance and bodywork since 1988. I am teaching CI since 2001.

I was co-organiser of the Wien-jam ( together with Sabine Sonnenschein) and the Greifenstein Jam ( together with Sabine Parzer).

I studied at the Konservatory for Music and Dramatic Art / Vienna, the European Dance Development Centre / Arnhem and the School for Body-Mind Centering / Amsterdam.

I hold a BA in dance, I am a Trager-Practitioner and Massage Therapist and I am a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist ( ISMETA).

Between 1990 and 2000 I worked as a performance artist, producing and performing 48 performances internationally.

Since 2000 I work as therapist and teacher. Since 2007 I am training to become a Psychotherapist, combining my movement and therapy educations and experiences with buddhist psychology I developed my own Somatic Therapy Method called PME ( Physio-Mentale Entwicklung)

Being bored with the formal, sporty and gymnastical aspects of CI, I developed “Somatic Dance” in 2007 focussing on authentic human communication in a mindful way through touch and dance.

Right now I am teaching felt anatomy for bodyworkers and psychotherapists(link), anatomy for dancers(link) and developmental movements(link)  at the Tanzquartier Wien and Impulstanz Wien and giving one-on-one sessions in PME in my private practice.

I am member of the “buddhist therapists” an official group of the ÖBR (Österreichische Buddhistische Religionsgemeinschaft), Dieter Rehberg Institut für Physio-Mentale Entwicklung, Somatic Movement Therapist
