My registration confirmation email says I’ve been accepted as a researcher & I’m doing the post-workshop & I don’t want to sleep at the venue - but actually I just want to do the festival and I do want to sleep at the venue!

How do I pay?

Can I pay when I arrive?

NO. Your place at the Festival is only guaranteed after we have received your payment

What if I cannot attend the whole event?

We expect all participants to be present during the whole event. Please contact us if this is not possible for you (info@touchandplay.org)

Where can I sleep and what do I need to bring?

  • all participants can sleep at the festival venue for the duration of the event.
  • There are some basic mattresses (foam pads) but for comfort we recommend bringing your own mat
  • June in Spain is pretty warm, but the nights can be cool, so a light sleeping bag or blanket is a good idea

I need somewhere to stay just before/after the festival – can you help?

  • If you have been accepted as a researcher you are welcome to join us starting the 16th free of cost. In exchange you will be expected to help in the setup of the festival.
  • If you are coming to the festival only you cannot arrive before Thursday the 23rd June.
  • After the festival it is possible to sleep at the venue for an extra night (from Monday 27 to Tuesday 28) If you are not staying for the post festival workshop you will asked to leave on Tuesday morning.

Is there internet available? Can I check my email?

There is WIFI available at the venue free of charge. We ask you to respect the limited bandwidth and avoid (streaming video, P2P, torrents, etc.)

How is the catering done and what meals are provided?

What language are the workshops given in?

  • The language of the festival is English.
  • A number of workshops will however be given in Spanish with translator

What do I need to bring?

  • Comfortable summer clothes for dancing and the village
  • Swimming suit (there is an open air pool 2 minutes from the venue and a nearby lake)
  • Dressing up clothes ( optional :-)

Is there an age limit or minimal age?

We suggest a minimal age of 21. You must however be 18 years or older. There is no upper age limit.

Can I bring my children? Is there childcare?

We do not advise you to this event due to the nature of some of the activities that are explored. For this reason we also do not provide childcare. If you have children and are considering bringing them along please contact us (info@touchandplay.org)

Can I come for only part of the festival and pay less?

No we are trying to create a group dynamic and this is not easy if people arrive or depart at different times.

How much experience in Contact Improvisation do I need to participate in the festival?

Zero, prior Contact knowledge is not a prerequisite to participate in the Touch&Play festival. It is however a very strong recommendation to explore a bit of ‘classical’ Contact Improv beforehand if you have the chance

Are there any discounts/reduced prices? any possibilities for work exchange?

There is a possibility for a work exchange (WEX) for individuals needing financial help. If you are interested in applying for WEX please send us a short bio and a motivation letter to support your request.

What is the event’s smoking policy?

All closed spaces at the venue are no smoking, including Bathrooms and sleeping areas. Smoking in outside spaces is allowed if this does not bother others.

Is this event safe?

  • You are responsible for your own mental, emotional and physical safety at all times before/during/after the Touch&Play Festival and Experiment.
  • We’re also interested in how we can take care of each other, there will be some labs on this issue during the Experiment which may feed into the holding of the festival in various ways

Can I take photographs or shoot video during the event?

Due to the sensitive nature of some of the material there will be some restrictions on photography during the festival
